| There are
several very commanding reasons why we are forming this Air Medal wing.
1- Most of our members are also
holders of the Air Medal for achievement in air combat separate from the
accomplishment of earning the DFC
2-Many of the Air Medal winners
were candidates for the DFC but fell short of that goal for reasons such
as a shortened tour of duty or being overlooked in the evaluation proces.
3- Many of the Air Medal winners
were Crew comrades of our own DFC members performing in heroism on the
same mission that our member received the DFC |
